1 ITEM 1 ITEM 5 WAYS | Mommy Leggings
Pre-baby bump, I wasn’t particularly a fan of leggings but now w/ a bulging belly they’re truly the comfiest & functional pants in the world! BUT w/ that being said this also makes them a “throw-on & don’t care” option so some of us may get thrown into messy maternity territory & we stop thinking outside of the box when it comes to this staple item.
Busty in Black
As my body has been changing before my eyes, I’ve had to adapt my typically masculine, oversized silhouettes in exchange for lower necklines that show off my bust, empire waists & more tailored shapes. This doesn’t mean I’ve lost my core style choices, it just takes a few simple tweaks here & there to make each outfit more flattering for my current body type.
Blazin’ Hot in Color Block
Using the harness, I’ve created a layered look w/ a casual white button down & combat boots. I don’t typically like to wear white on top now as white emphasizes my already bigger top however, the longer hem helps elongate the frame while the black blazer is used for blocking, which visibly slims the body.
Rockin' Robe
Wrap style coats or dresses are notoriously one of the most figure flattering silhouettes! Just make sure it’s tied to the smallest part of your waist. The long sweeping layers & bell sleeves bring the eye downward to the pop shoes & draw the focus away from the belly.
Don Draper
The key to dressing chic when pregnant is to keep it tailored! The white cardigan is used to block & break up all the black while the long necklace & drape of the cardigan draws the eye downward (similar to the effect of a v-neck top).
Gym Day Jive
A classic “gym day” combination w/ sneakers & a hooded top gives the impression of comfort but rather than just wearing a plain old t-shirt, try elevating the look w/ some texture or a unique silhouette (like a draped cowl neckline). Again, it’s ideal to lengthen the torso so wearing a longer tunic will do the trick!
